Webinars
National Farmers Union in Washington, and its chapters around the US, have expertise in many areas of interest to New England producers—cooperative development, carbon credit programs, dairy, fisheries management, etc. NEFU and NFU are working together to design a series of webinars on topics pertinent for New England farmers and fishermen. Each session will be open, will be hosted by the presidents of National Farmers Union and New England Farmers Union, and will include a national leader with firsthand knowledge of the topic. Topics will include dairy, fisheries management, climate change, food safety, regional food system development, food and health, speciality crop programs, and risk management. Check back!
Upcoming Conferences

NEFU will be partnering with other regional organizations to offer technical assistance on carbon credit applications, policy development, cooperative development and youth outreach. Partners include American Farmland Trust, Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Working Group (NESAWG), New England Association of Resource, Conservation and Development Area, and Cooperative Fund of New England. NFU also hosts an annual conference to which NEFU members are invited. And NEFU offers financial aid to members who wish to attend the annual "Fly In" to Washington, DC in September of each year.

Organizations
New England is chock full of great organizations that are building a stronger and more sustainable regional food system. We also have a growing number of new and beginning farmers and fishermen who are eager to contribute to a healthy environment and responsible food production. NEFU's network can touch state, local and federal government pressure points, and we have strong links to other regional and national organizations. Our Board of Directors represent Rural Votes, a national advocacy organization; American Farmland Trust with a New England Director on our Board; Whole Foods Market; the Council of State Governments; and cranberry growers and hook fishermen. As we expand our Board, we will increase our connections to other organizations throughout New England that share our commitment to helping New England preserve its ability to feed and fuel itself.
Careers
NEFU promotes succession planning for agricultural enterprises and, with NFU, provides a variety of educational opportunities for youth and adults at the local, state and national levels. Click here for some of the national educational opportunities available to youth and adults.
