The 38th Annual Boston/New England Emmy® Awards has announced that The Chef’s Plate: A Taste of New England’s “Farm Fresh Chef Challenge” has been nominated for best “Lifestyle Program Special.” The Chef’s Plate (TCP) in partnership with the New England Farmers Union filmed a special episode of TCP called the “Farm Fresh Chef Challenge” in October 2014. Producer/host Helen Ryba visited three local farms to fill a mystery basket with ingredients and then brought the basket to three award-winning New England chefs, who all have a passion for using locally sourced food. Each chef prepared a dish using ingredients from the three farms, plus three other New England farms. All business participants in the show are members of New England Farmers Union, which works to protect and enhance the economic well-being and quality of life of family farmers, fishermen, and consumers in all six New England states.
